Descrizione
In 1983, Enzo Ferrari published Piloti che gente…, a book entirely dedicated to drivers, with a detailed and in-depth analysis of the men, rather than the athletes, who captured Enzo’s heart and soul and triumphed behind the wheel of the flaming reds from Maranello.
The author writes that drivers could be grouped into five major periods, almost five generations: 1919-1930, 1930-1939, the postwar period, the 1960s and 1970s, and the present.
Enzo Ferrari reviews these five periods, which saw him, in various capacities, as a protagonist, first as a racer, then as a team manager and then as a constructor.
The rich and splendid iconography, composed of archival images, drawings, illustrations, and sports news articles, captivates the reader, just like the story itself.
Pilots, what kind of people… Masters of calculation, champions of cynicism, record holders of recklessness, or just men who seek the meaning of life in the exhilarating thrill of victory?
