Before starting to produce cars under his own name, during a non-competition agreement with Alfa Romeo, Enzo Ferrari created a team, Avio Auto, which built the legendary 815 and competed in the 1940 Mille Miglia. then went down in history as one of the most important cars on the world scene. Driving that extraordinary car was the very young Marquis Lotario Rangoni Machiavelli. The life of the Marquis, first pilot of the Drake, was that of an unconventional multi-graduate nobleman, a dreamer, a traveller, an adventurer with a weakness for the fairer sex, a car driver who won a lot and traveled the world . He died at just 29 years old while testing an Italian Air Force plane. The story of two twentieth-century characters told also thanks to many unpublished photos that testify to their incredible adventure, between earth and sky. A deep friendship between Drake and the Marquis, whose story is also a tale of Italy between the two wars and under fascism. But also that of the birth of a world myth.
