Eventi: Monterey Car Week 2026
Everything that takes place around Monterey in mid-August each year adds an important piece to the overall picture of the classic (and now also modern) car world. Auction records? Concours d’Elegance? Tours? Take your pick… One striking aspect is the pretty stunning number of Ferraris present on the Monterey Peninsula. This issue covers the major events of The Week—Pebble Beach, the Quail, and Casa Ferrari—plus the auction results. The classes at Pebble Beach alone provide us with more than enough material to report….

Eventi: Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run
In the past, the Louis Vuitton Classic Runs were among the events enthusiasts most dreamed of attending. And not only because of the cars. Indeed, those fortunate enough to take part got to taste life at its most refined. After a number of years’ absence, the Classic Run is now back… and, judging by what we experienced, it has not lost its magic touch. The starting place? Venice, of course, where the last Classic Run finished years ago…

Main feature and cover car: 1954 250 Monza Spyder Scaglietti s/n 0442
One of only two examples manufactured, and the only one surviving in its original configuration, s/n 0442 was originally sold to Franco Cornacchia of Scuderia Guastalla and extensively raced, including in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana. Following years of careful restoration by Ferrari Classiche, it has now returned to this same race, sporting its original configuration and livery.

Carrozzeria Scaglietti Anyone who writes about Ferrari is bound to have come across Scaglietti, the Modenese coachbuilder that dressed so many Ferrari racers during the heyday of sports car racing. But who was Sergio Scaglietti, the company’s founder, and how did he come to be such an important supplier to Ferrari, as well as a dear friend of Enzo and the only man in history to have a Ferrari model named after him while still alive?

Main feature: 1984 308 GTM s/n 002
The 308 GTM remains a hugely important pillar in Ferrari history. In fact, the model was the basis for the future 288 GTO, which in turn became the Evoluzione and finally the F40. Unfortunately, the cancellation of the Group B category and changes in IMSA rules killed off the project before it was finalized. But s/n 002, the second of the three examples built and the only one to actually compete, did have a very good outing in one race…

Focus On: Egidio Brandoli
From his years at Scaglietti, spent creating the bodies of some of the most important Ferraris in history, to his work at his own firm, founded to restore the very car bodies he had created years earlier, Egidio Brandoli has probably hammered and caressed more Ferrari bodies than any other human being. Becoming aware through his work of the shortage of spare parts, he embarked on a manufacturing journey, too, while never abandoning the use of his own hands and precious tools. The result? It is difficult to find a classic Ferrari without the “Brandoli” touch… What a story!

Test Drive: 2026 Ferrari F80
Everybody is keen to learn how the new Ferrari F80 hypercar drives, and we went the extra mile in order to find out. Instead of having one for a few hours, we asked the owner of s/n 326492, one of the very first delivered in the USA, to tell us about life with such a car. And yes, he drives it, and intends to keep doing so extensively, including on track days… And, to go one step further, we asked Flavio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer and leading the Ferrari Design Studio since 2010, to tell us how the F80’s style came about.

Corsa:
In this column, we bring you up to date with the latest races in the 2026 GT and WEC seasons, as well as developments from the F1 season.

Finally, as always, Cavallino brings you the voices of several editorialists, discussing a variety of topics, as well as a full and updated list of Ferrari market values (also of the latest models) compiled by specialists analyzing the values and market trends of different Ferrari cars.
